Cybele

Cybele was a mother goddess whose cult is thought to have been imported from Anatolia to Greece where she was identified with the mother of Zeus. See a picture of her and some of the elements with which she was associated in Greek mythology.

When Cybele rejected the advances of Zeus, he impregnated her anyway. A generation later, Cybele fell in love with her own grandson Attis. The consequences were disastrous.
