Historical Jesus

In an article in the Seattle Times on archaeological evidence for the historical Jesus, Sepphoris archaeologist James Strange conjectures that Jesus may have picked up the Greek word "hypocrite" from the Greco-Roman amphitheater, a part of the cosmopolitan world in which he lived.
