Olympic Games
Friday August 6, 2004
The Olympic and other Panhellenic Games were ancient religious festival that combined honor of the gods with athletic competitions. The Olympics honored Zeus whose statue at Olympia was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. While all Greek citizens could participate, if women tried to watch the Olympic Games, they could be killed. Also see: The Victory Laurel and the Panhellenic Games and More Olympic Games Resources.
