Poplicola

Thursday November 25, 2004
Following the famous rape of Lucretia by King Tarquinius Priscus or Tarquin the Proud's son, the Romans decided that they never wanted to experience monarchy again and managed to make due with a consular system, instead. One of the first consuls was a man whose name was Valerius but was called Poplica -- the People Minder. In Bingley's biography of Poplicola, you'll find out more about this revolutionary era.
