Besides the most famous ancient historians, Herodotus (aka father of history or father of lies), Thucydides, and Tacitus, there are the famed annalists and biographers like Livy and Plutarch, as well as less known men like the Carian Greek Ctesias, a physician at the Persian court and historian who sought to dispel Herodotus' erroneous accounts.
