In
Noah's Ark Found at Shuruppak, the authors look at various dates given for the Biblical flood. These dates depend on when the world was created. However, according to the authors, there is much disagreement about this date among Biblical scholars.
- "Most scholars [prior to the 19th century AD] agreed that the world was only about six thousand years old, though there was considerable disagreement over the exact date of the creation. Jewish rabbinical calculations from the Hebrew Massoretic Text showed that the world began 3,740 years before the Christian Era. Roman Catholic tradition, based on the Latin Vulgate translation of the Bible, placed the creation in 5199 B.C. And most English-speaking Protestants accepted the seventeenth-century Archbishop James Ussher's calculation of the time of creation, 4004 B.C."

Noah’s Ark is no more than a geological anomaly. It can be seen where the Epic of Gilgamesh states it is to be found, at what was known as Mount Nizir or Nazar, a word that means ‘to present a sacrifice’. The formation was covered by topsoil from before the time of Christ to the 1950s when an earthquake uncovered it. The adjacent village was until then also known as Nizir but when the ‘Ark’ appeared the name was changed to Uzengili. Shortly afterwards the region and the formation in particular was photographed by a Turkish military pilot flying a survey mission. His name was Durupinar and the region has since taken this name on board.
The dimensions of the ‘vessel’ very clearly indicate that it was from here that the Biblical authors took their guidance. However, the funary boat of Pharaoh Khufu, the famous ‘solar boat’ is the same length as the beam of this ‘boat’ and it cannot be coincidence as this is a very odd measurement. There are further replication of the ‘stone boat’ to be seen at Giza, unrecognised except by the authors of the book mentioned below.
There was no world flood as science has proven and the references in the religious works are, as with Plato’s Atlantis tale, to astronomical events. The plural here is correct because we are looking at a cyclic scenario. The Bible has Noah’s offspring building up the Middle East yet this could not historically have happened if, as most claim, the flood was after the commencement of dynastic Egypt.
In fact one date of a flood is 2300BC, when the 40 days of rain are supposed to have occurred. This can be dated to the day from the Biblical information. This is a reference to the Pleiades as classical writings will indicate. In South Wales where the current author lives there are standing stones set out to demonstrate this event but dated a little earlier to 2500BC.
For a definitive analysis of the flood tales of the primary religions and of Plato’s Atlantis it is recommended that those interested peruse the the book
