Hercules' Labors Picture Gallery

A pictorial look at the 12 Labors of Hercules with summaries or appropriate passages from Apollodorus. Hercules was originally assigned 10 labors, but the king who assigned them, Eurystheus, discounted two of the labors because of help received. It took more than 8 years to perform the first ten and then two more were added, one taking Hercules to the ends of the earth and the other to the Underworld.

Hercules was performing these labors as atonement for murdering his own wife and children. There were mitigating factors.
