Paul Cartledge of Cambridge University will be the first to hold the "Hellenic Parliament Global Distinguished Professorship" at NYU, according to Athens News Agency's article, Democracy Seat established in NYU. This is part of an effort between NYU and the parliament of Greece to establish a dialogue on the meaning of democracy, a term which most modern governments use to describe themselves even when other countries consider them not to be democratic.
