Dating the Birth of Jesus Christ

Saturday October 14, 2006
From the forum:
"If the calculations of Dionysius Exiguus for placing the birth of Jesus Christ at 753 AUC (= 0 C.E.) ... places his birth after the death of Herod (4 B.C.E.), would this not mess with any calculations when it comes to using the Bible as a means of dating events?"
More information is provided in:
"Hippolytus and the Introduction of the Christian Era," by George Ogg; Vigiliae Christianae, Vol. 16, No. 1. (Mar., 1962), pp. 2-18.
