Eruption of Mt. Aetna

Tuesday May 1, 2007
Mt. EtnaThe Today Show this morning said Mt. Etna (Aetna) erupted yesterday. Since I can't find it in the news, I wonder if the show was making a joke that I missed, but it doesn't really matter. It has erupted before and will again. If you had lived in ancient times, perhaps you would have believed this was caused by Typhon fighting beneath the mountain or the blacksmith god Vulcan and the Cyclops working in their forge.

Update: This blog was originally posted on April 12, 2007. I am re-posting that the Today Show made the same announcement again today, May 1, 2007, and, as before, I can't find news about it.

I am traveling to Sicily, startig today, and wondered that article on the morning Today Show was not on the website, or anywhere else??
I wonder if it will affect the air quality in Sicily among other things.
It’s perplexing.

It’s interesting that you bring this up. The original blog was from April 12, but the Today Show did it again today. I wonder if it’s a filler they throw in. If it’s real, I hope it doesn’t adversely affect your plans.
