In the sixteenth book of the Odyssey, Odysseus secretly reveals his identity to his son Telemachus, who hasn't seen him since he was a baby. The two men plot how to get revenge against the suitors. They decide that Telemachus, who has repeatedly shown himself to be a gifted host, will continue play the part of a concerned and gracious host. In this capacity, he will take away the suitors' weapons while they are drinking, telling them that he's afraid they're going to hurt themselves.
