I always pictured them as mermaids, rather than harpies. And I thought they stayed on the rocks, rather than delivering a singing telegram right up to the ship!

Great painting! We visited San Felice Circeo in southern Italy, where Odysseus encountered the enchantress Circe. I’m glad we didn’t have to take on these Sirens en route!
