Archaeologists Have Found a New Bust of Ramses II
Thursday September 25, 2008
Yahoo! News reports on the discovery of a bust of Pharaoh Ramses the Great, in its article Ramses II bust found in Egypt. The significance of this discovery is that it may indicate the presence of another temple of Ramses in the vicinity. Ramses, who was married to Nefertari among many others, may have ruled for 66 years, lived almost a century, and fought the Hittites in the Battle of Kadesh, which is reason enough for him to be celebrated, but in addition, his mummy, from KV7 in the Valley of the Kings, is on display in Cairo's National Museum.Photo of Pharaoh Ramses II of Egypt.
