The 17th century Praxis Grammatica tells you that we desire the wrong things:
[ 304 ] Maxima quaeque vitae oblectamenta insulsa sunt et insuavia. [English Translation]
How does this sentence fit in with your understanding of ancient philosophy? please post in the comments.
