My family may be strange, but it seems we reference the Sword of Damocles at least once a month. Scary what reading the classics teaches you!
Not remotely strange. I think it is the most frequently referenced term on my site.
So much can be conveyed with just a few words when one has a knowledge of history and mythology.
Now researching Sword of Damocles so I can pair it with all of my other pop culture references.
I am always amazed when I meet teens who’ve never studied ancient history or mythology. So many cultural references go right over their heads. Parents, please read the Greek myths to your children!
