"Clash of the Titans"

The reviews of Clash of the Titans, directed by Louis Leterrier, are pouring in. Most are negative, but it sounds as though if you decline the expensive option and settle for 2-D, you won't be too disappointed. Here are some sample reviews: Itzkoff compares the 2010 version with the campy 1981 one, but concludes the winner to be: "Either 'Jason and the Argonauts' or 'D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths.'" In a similar vein, the Rogue Classicist has culled the mostly negative reviews to find one that addresses the actors' accents: Clash of the Accents.

The 1981 version was excellent. Any attempt to improve on the original are a tawdry display of the latest special effects.

Enjoyable film nothing like the original (which was great) I would encourage all fans of antiquity to check it out. Costumes and sets are incredible…..

the 2010 version was really good. But I also thought the 1981 version was really good. What can I say….I’m a mythology fanatic! Love the stories.

The original Clash had a better story but the action scenes in the lastes Clash are fabulous. So I liked both for different reasons. The black Pegasus was fantastic. However, didn’t Perseus kill the Craken wearing the wings of Mercury? When are they going to get this story right? Bellerphon rode Pegasus. Right??? Peg just popped out of Medusa’s head when Perseus cut it off. Right? hummm

It’s entertainment people!! My son and I really enjoyed the movie. You need to let go of the details and just enjoy it for what it is.

Some of the costumes and accents were goofy, but overall it was very entertaining.

The orginal movie had better details, this movie has special effects. But both leave out parts of the real story. And where are the Powerful Goddesses?
Remember, behind every myth or legend, there is some truth, veiled by words.
Blessings,
