A friend was complaining that she had trouble locating material on ancient writing on this site, specifically on the earliest writing. She actually found one link, Cuneiform, via the glossary and accidentally ran into a helpful one on Babylonian Counting, but not the related articles, like Early Writing. [While I'm at it, let me mention Barry B. Powell - Writing: Theory and History of the Technology of Civilization.]

While trying to explain what was and what was not on this site -- that its emphasis is on the Classical world -- I asked if she had found any of the study guides. No, she had no idea I had any. In case you're in the same boat, helping a student at home learning about ancient history via homeschooling or a local remote education program, I've strung several of them together into this list of Ancient/Classical History Study Guides on specific topics. I hope it helps.
