  2. This is a detail from a larger fresco that is not seasonally appropriate.
  3. This is one of my favorite early Renaissance paintings on the topic of Ancient/Classical History, so you've probably seen it on this blog or in articles on this site. I love the three dimensional quality of the clothing -- almost blurring the line between sculpture and painting, the androgynous face/hair/hairline, and the ambiguity of race/nationality the coloring and features connote.

This one was easy. Interesting analysis of the art. It does have a touch of the avant-garde about it. I especially like the way the cloth is handled.
