Aeneas and Dido
Enea e Didone. From Storia Owner: © NYPL Digital Gallery
The singer Dido is supposed to have been named for a famous tragic queen whom the famous Trojan/Roman hero Aeneas seduced and abandoned, thanks to some divine meddling. Despite the one being described as tragic and the other as heroic there are a number of similarities. I have 9 on a list. An even 10, a dozen or a baker's dozen would be better, so if you'd like to add to this list, please post in the comments, but first, please read what I already have: Comparison of Dido and Aeneas.
