'Quod non fecerunt Gothi, fecerunt Scoti'

Andrew Douglas Alexander Thomas Bruce is a descendant of "Scotland's medieval hero king, Robert the Bruce," according to the UK digital Independent, but that's a small part of his ancestral story. His family has been involved in a heated controversy since it chose to interpret the Italian word "qualche" as "any" instead of "some," which prompted Lord Byron to write: 'Quod non fecerunt Gothi, fecerunt Scoti.'
