Bread and Circuses on Epigraphy

Adrian Murdoch sees traces of Harry Potter's Severus Snape in the area of epigraphy. While I don't quite get that, finding the venerable Albus Dumbledore a more appropriate JK Rowling character for epigraphy
(durable, priceless inscriptions about ancient events, witnessing ancient letter forms, spelling, and if used carefully, pronunciation), Murdoch's Bread and Circuses blog notes an online epigraphic database with over 40,000 Roman inscriptions published outside the main editions in the Epigraphische Datenbank Heidelberg.
