Hatshepsut

Definition: Hatshepsut (also known as Hatchepsut) married her half-brother Thutmose II. When he died, Thutmose III became king, with Hatshepsut acting as regent. Gradually Hatshepsut assumed the power of the king of Egypt from about 1503 - 1480 B.C.
