Definition: Enheduanna was the daughter of the Akkadian king Sargon, ruler of Sumer and Akkad. Sargon appointed his daughter as High Priestess -- En -- of the Sumerian god Nanna, in the city of Ur.

Enheduanna is the first writer to include her name in her writing. Enheduanna wrote "The Sumerian Temple Hymns," and hymns to the god Inanna, "nin-me-sara," in which she incorporated details of her own life.

Enheduanna lived around 2300-2225 B.C.
