King Idrimi of Alalakh was forced into exile following a popular revolt. He first fled to Emar on the Euphrates, and then to Canaan where he joined other Syrain refugees to live with the homeless Hapiru.
Seven years later he recaptured Alalakh, rebuilt his palace, and extended his kingdom. His son was Niqmepa.
