Sun Tzu or Sun Zi was a military strategist who wrote The Art of War. Sun Tzu lived in the fifth century B.C., and was a native of the state of Ch'i. Sun Tzu worked as an advisor and sometimes a commander in various kingdoms. The king of Wu made him a general. In this capacity, he defeated the state of ChÂ'u, entered Ying, and intimidated ChÂ'i and Chin. |
