I am not providing complete etymologies, but rather, the Latin or Greek words that are at the base of these English words. Homicide - killing of a person. From the Latin 'homo' (man) and caedere (kill). Homosexual and homonym have a different etymology. The 'hom' comes from the Greek adjective 'homos' meaning same.
