Myth: Sub-Saharan

Technically, these legends from Africa are too recent to be included in Ancient History. They're here because their absence would be more remarkable than their inclusion; besides, they may be based on truly ancient legend.
Yoruba Gods
Southwestern Nigerian traditional religion focuses on a pantheon called orisha. The gods (numbering between 201-601) came down to populate the earth. Some of them are primordial, others are heroes added into the pantheon; still others are natural phenomena.
