Venus Cloacina
Gods/Godesses Index
Venus Claocina was an aspect of Venus as a purifying goddess. Cloacina may have been a separate water goddess who came to be combined with Venus. A statue of Venus Cloacina was established at the site of the conclusion of the peace between the Sabines and the Romans. She had a shrine in the Forum Romanum beside the Cloaca Maxima (the Roman sewer system).
