Gods/Goddesses Index

Anubis
Anubis was the jackal headed Egyptian funerary god. In the early period, Anubis rather than Osiris, was lord of the dead. Later Anubis worked in the judgement of the dead soul. If the dead sould was as light as a feather Anubis would lead it.
The center for the worship of Anubis was Cynopolis (Upper Egypt), although he was worshiped throughout Egypt, as well.
Also known as Anpu, Ienpw, and Yinepu.
