Gods/Goddesses Index

Nantosuelta, whose name means 'winding river' is a Gallic goddess of water often shown holding a house to indicate a domestic function.

Nantosuelta: A Gaulish Goddess suggests an alternative etymology and provides a picture of Nantosuelta with Sucellos, her consort.

The Encyclopedia Britannica says that Nantosvelta is the consort of Sucellos and that like Mercury's consort Rosmerta, she "reflect[s] the coupling of the protecting god of the tribe or nation with the mother-goddess."
