Ancient Literature Titles and Authors
Difficult Ancient/Classical History Quiz
This quiz is straight forward. There are no particularly tricky questions. Despite this, it is very difficult. (Okay, it's not hard if you're a classicist, ancient historian, or someone who spends her life studying this stuff, but if you're like most of the people who use this site, it's hard. If it's not, good for you! Try this one, instead.) One problem is that the titles of ancient works are the obvious, like keywords and tags. Often the title we have is just Carmina meaning 'Poems'. None of these is quite that generic, but there is one question about a collection of letters. In that case you have to decide whose correspondence is named. Two questions are about comedies, which have the most fanciful of the titles here. If the title sounds religious, look for a religious writer. The Latin (or Greek) is generally translated.
Good luck and please let me know if there are any errors.
