The Presocratic Philosophers
Xenophanes of Colophon (c. 570-480)
Xenophanes of Colophon (an Ionian city in Lydia in western Asia Minor) was known for criticizing the Greek pantheon, as when he points out how absurd it is that gods and humans share the same physique:"If horses or oxen or lions had hands and could produce works of art, they too would represent the gods after their own fashion"
