Aristotle on Epic Poetry
Aristotle's Poetics takes on the various genres of poetry, but in these passages, he describes the attributes of epic poetry and compares the requirements and expectations of epic and tragic poetry (tragedy). I've added my own notes to explain some of the terms used.
