Judaism and Christianity

Christianity began as an offshoot of Judaism, which itself developed in the ancient world alongside other, polytheistic religions. One factor that separated Judaism from its neighbors was the emphasis on one god, but there was also the Hebrew people's shared history and an important document that is known as the Bible.
