Antinous (1) (111-October 30, 130) was the lover of the Roman emperor Hadrian. Antinous drowned in the Nile River and was deified by the grief-stricken emperor.
Antinous (2) is the name of a son of Eupeithes in the Odyssey. In the Odyssey Antinous was the most obnoxious and hated of the suitors of Penelope, as well as the first to die. He tried to kill Telemachus, son of Penelope and Odysseus.
