Definition: Andromache was the wife of the Trojan prince Hector.

Andromache clearly loved her husband Hector. Together they produced the child Scamander or Astyanax, who was hurled from the walls of Troy when the Greeks gained control. After Troy fell, Andromache was given as a war prize to Achilles' son Neoptolemus, by whom she gave birth to Pergamus.
