Irene Hahn

From Irene Hahn

Irene Hahn leads an online book discussion group on Roman history and writes book reviews.
Irene Hahn developed an interest in Roman history when her family lived near Cologne, Germany, and where she moved later before eventually coming to the U.S. Now retired from her job as a reinsurance underwriter, she devotes part of her time to the study of Roman history. She is an avid reader of anything printed and reviews books related to Roman history. She cites Pliny the Elder: "No book is so bad but some good might be got out of it."
Since 1995, Irene has led an online book reading group, discussing Roman history related fiction, mysteries, nonfiction, and ancient historians. She keeps a related blog, Roman History Books and More and website and is an enthusiastic member of the classics blogging community. She is also a Cohost at the Ancient Classical History Forum.
Interest in history in general has led her to volunteering at the Stamford Historical Society in Stamford, Connecticut, where she is the webmaster, assists in creating exhibits, and has been the photo archivist and a member of the board of directors.
