The Life of Gotama Buddha
Born a prince. Siddhartha abandoned his privileged life, became a mendicant, and practiced asceticism in the forest of Uruvilva. When he was thirty-five, he finally cleared his mind and was enlightened; thereby becoming Buddha, the Perfectly Enlightened One. He traveled the countryside, living on alms and persuading me to accept his way of life.
