The fora were public squares, meeting places for business. The major forum was called the Forum Romanum. In Rome there were also the following Roman fora:

  • Forum Caesaris - Caesar's Forum
  • Forum Augusti
  • Forum Nervae - Transitional Forum - Nerva's Forum
  • Forum Trajani - Trajan's Forum
  • Forum boarium (a cattle market)
  • Forum Piscarium (a fish market)
  • Forum Holitorium (a vegetable market)
  • Forum Suarium (a hog market).
