The fora were public squares, meeting places for business. The major forum was called the Forum Romanum. In Rome there were also the following Roman fora:
- Forum Caesaris - Caesar's Forum
- Forum Augusti
- Forum Nervae - Transitional Forum - Nerva's Forum
- Forum Trajani - Trajan's Forum
- Forum boarium (a cattle market)
- Forum Piscarium (a fish market)
- Forum Holitorium (a vegetable market)
- Forum Suarium (a hog market).
