Definition: The term deipnon appears in Athenaeus' Deipnosophists. It is translated banquet, or feast because it refers to a philosophers' symposium, but deipnon is a word for dinner or meal. Not everyone ate breakfast. For some, there was one meal. This is the deipnon. Like the early breakfast, the deipnon could consist of bread, in which case the phrase is δειπνέω ἄρτον.
