Definition: Ganesha, the Hindu zoomorphic elephant-headed, pot-bellied god, is the son of Siva and Parvati, and the god of knowledge and thresholds. He is the god of knowledge, wisdom, literature, and fire. Lord Ganesha - Also called Vighneshvara or Vighnaharta, Ganesha is the lord and destroyer of obstacles. Worship of him and four other gods (Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti and Surya) is called "panchaayatana puja." Ganesha is often shown riding a mouse.
