Greek Women Poets
Although most of the ancient poets were men, there are several famous ancient women who wrote lyric poetry. The best known is Sappho of Lesbos.
Korinna
While we don't know when Korinna was born or even which century, it seems likely she was a contemporary of Pindar's, i.e., fifth century B.C.
