Definition: Herakles is the Greek form for Hercules. The name, which is also spelled Heracles, even though the Greek alphabet lacks the letter C -- means "the glory of Hera."
Herakles was a semi-divine Greek hero -- we might call him a superhero -- who was hounded all his life by Hera. He attained immortality after death and married Hera's daughter Hebe.
