Achilles, leader of the Myrmidons, was the greatest warrior of the Greeks, but he refused to fight for them after the head king, Agamemnon, took his war prize Briseis. Achilles' friend Patroclus fought, though. Here Achilles bandages a wound Patroculs suffered.

When Patroclus fought in Achilles' armor, he commanded the attention of the Trojans. The greatest of the Trojans, Hector killed Patroclus. In order to avenge the death of Patroclus, Achilles re-joined the fighting.
