Definition: Horus was an Egyptian sky god who is often depicted as a stylized eye. Egyptian falcon statues may represent Horus. Horus is more than one god put together. Horus may be called Horus the falcon, the king of Egypt, and the lord of heaven, according to Anthes ["Egyptian Theology in the Third Millennium B. C., by Rudolf Anthes. Journal of Near Eastern Studies (1959)]. Some believe the original Horus was the brother of Osiris, Horus, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys. The Egyptian pharaoh was taken to be the living Horus.
