Acacia tortilis

Definition: Acacia tortilis is a tree prevalent in the southern wadis (valleys) of Israel. It is referred to as unbrella tree and provides forage for giraffes. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, the Septuagint referred to acacia tortilis wood as lignum setim and incorruptible. It was to create the ark of the covenant and other holy objects.
