Second Temple Period

Definition: In Jewish history, the Second Temple Period ran from 520 B.C. - A.D. 70, ending with the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. The Second Temple Period was when the Dead Sea Scrolls were copied. It was a time of crucial development for monotheistic religions.
