Kartikeya a virile war god was associated with Alexander the Great. He is the son of either Agni or Shiva.The Indians equated Alexander with Kartikeya; hence, another name for him: Skanda.

Katikeya's birth story. Shiva had six faces with a central eye in each. Out of these eyes sprang sparks which fell into a lake where they became infants. Shiva's wife grabbed the six infants and squeezed them into one -- Kartikeya.
