Definition: Hedonism is the pursuit of pleasure as the chief philosophical good.
Hedonism is associated with Epicureanism which seeks to maximize pleasure, although Epicurus put restraints on the pursuit of pleasure because too much is no longer pleasant. Hedonism commonly means self-indulgence.
