The step pyramid at Saqqara is thought to have been designed by Imhotep for 3rd Dynasty Pharaoh Djoser (Zoser). The medicine of the 17th century B.C. Edwin Smith Papyrus is also attributed to Imhotep. Millennia later, Imhotep was deified; his parents were considered to have been
Ptah (father) and possibly Sekhmet (mother). In Greece, Imhotep was associated with the Greek god Asclepius.
Imhotep is on the list of Most Important People to Know in Ancient History.
